THE KOKATAHI BAND INSTRUMENTS

We're principally a button accordion
band, with support from other instruments. Until recently there were no
piano accordions, largely because their piano keyboard creates a
different natural musical character from the button variety.
Melodic support comes mainly from violins, harmonicas, the musical saw
and penny whistle, and harmony mostly from tenor and five-string banjos.
The Band's rhythm comes from the bass drum illustrated on the Home
page, and one or two side drums, plus the bones, lagerphone
and banjos.
