REPERTOIRE
The Band plays popular and instantly-recognised tunes dating from the time when the Band was formed, in the early part of the twentieth century, through to the present day.
These include bush ballads, old Irish, Scottish, and of course NZ folk songs, and many tunes are easily recognisable by most people.
However, because of the instruments and their limitations - the more basic button accordions are strictly diatonic, playing only in one major key - a lot of the tunes come from a simpler age of marches and music-hall, favourites from the forties and fifties, loved by audiences of all ages and nationalities.
